Join the MLSA’s U9 Fall 2021/Spring 2022 Academy!

This program is designed to develop young players in a positive, supportive and challenging atmosphere that will emphasize age-appropriate technical development and prepare them to play the 7v7 game, whether it be recreational or more competitive play.

The nature of the training provided in the program may change due to circumstances surrounding the current COVID-19 outbreak, so please watch this space, your email and our Facebook pages for updates.

SPRING (April-May)

Not every player will be developmentally ready for U9 PA West League play in the spring. We do not want to place players into the PA West League before they are ready. The Fall U9 Academy professional trainers will make the determination on what spring program is best for each Academy player and will communicate with all parents in December.

  • Players that are developmentally ready to join the Travel League will be placed on teams that will have 2 – one hour practices a week - one with our professional trainers and one with their team coach. They will play 7v7 games on weekends in a PA West league against other clubs from Western PA (mostly Pittsburgh area).
  • Players who are not yet ready for the PA West League will continue their development in the MLSA Spring Development Program (SDP) with our professional trainers. Then, in May, they can try out for the following year's U10 Travel Teams or, in fall, play in the Lebo Cup Rec League, both of which will be 7v7.
